Sunset, Cape Crawford, NT. Almost makes up for shelling out $1.73AUD/litre. Oh god, I just wrote litre. I'm tainted!
underexposed blue tongued-skink, Tablelands highway. I swear I usually know to use my camera. The tablelands out-kansas kansas, by the way (or so I'm told)
Arlington national termite-ary, somewhere between Cloncurry and Normanton, QLD.
Karumba, QLD.
Ai, Karumba?
Crazy mica-prism action
Fun with mica II
Dude nettin' for bait, Karumba
Georgetown hasn't been the same since the great sand flood of ought-two.
Jackson Pollock eat your heart out. (Art reference! someone tell me if I did that right)
Kalkani rim walk, the volcano with a view.
Undarra Volcano NP at night.
Stars rotate the wrong way in the southern hemisphere, FYI.
Undarra Lava tubes. Dare i say tubular? No, I daren't.
The Lava tubes are a paltry 160km long. The middle of the three bumps on the left is the Undarra volcano, and the noticable greener wad in the right foreground isa pocket rainforest lushness inside a tube collapse, surround by savannah. The collapse is about 60km downstream of the volcano, with 100km to go. Madness!
The sun doin' something over the Great Barrier Reef (trust me, it's under there)
Cairns at night.
Whee! $180AUD well spent on a day in the hills with a 1984 Yamaha RD250R. Two stroke engine, sounds like a dream. An pleasingly angry, screaming dream.
Me and my new friend at Hugh's Lookout, near Millaa Millaa.
Tree kangaroos? Now they're just making crap up.
Oh come on, now they're not even trying. I liked it better when they made things up.
Waterfall near Millaa Millaa, with the sun playing nice.
$150AUD poorly spent, courtesy Cairn's finest. 94kph in an 80. about 73mph in a 65. 8km from the end of a ~460km ride, as I was getting up to speed after stopping to make a call. Guh. First in 6 years. Thank you, officer Bortlett (Bartlett?, Buttlett?)
Fun is not allowed in Cairns. And above all babies must wear nappies. BABIES MUST WEAR NAPPIES. The fate of the free world depends on it.
It's 2700km to Sydney, we've got a full tank of petrol, half a pack of kangaroos, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses...
Hit it.
[too lazy to rerotate those. deal]
